The title of Taco Sipma’s solo exhibition reflects the central attitude in his artistic practice: the refusal to conform to a single style, direction, or method.
His approach is eclectic and postmodern; he works from a free space where elements of classical painting, expressionism, mysticism, graphic design, art history, pop culture, and art brut come together. Paradoxically, it is precisely this multiplicity that creates consistency and recognizability in his oeuvre.
The title is a deliberate reinterpretation of “a seat at the table.” Where that phrase suggests a fixed position within an order, A Seat at Both Tables instead stands for openness, artistic freedom, and the refusal to limit oneself to a single perspective.
This idea forms the foundation of Taco Sipma’s upcoming solo exhibition.
